Thong Long Ngum is always there

Mr Toulanh Chounlamountry (Middle, wearing gray), President of Savanh Mutual Assistance and Mrs Chounlamountry were there among the earliest guests (Khob jai lai lai der). A lot of Lao seniors sat at this table too - Mr Soukanh Souksamlane (wearing black suit) and another nice senior couple Mr Souvanhyong (profile) and Mrs Souvannaly Vongthevanh (next to Mrs Chounlamountry).

A new star is born
Introducing a new star (3rd from Left), Mr Phaythoung Kongxayasak who just released his 2nd album (next to him is Mrs Kongxayasak). Phaythoun came with all the senior dancing group who didn't have to perform that evening. Saychailaotai allowed them to enjoy themselves utmosly without having to worry about performing. See, how generous we are!
And of course, our very own Siya Louie Siriphokha and Mme (wearing black) to give support. Louie is a long-term SLFS member and is also the President of Lao Sports Association. Good on ya Louie!

Time to go home
MC Khamsene had to tell people to go home - it was Midnight. You all have made this evening a historic phenominon. It's been such a long time we haven't seen a function that draws all people together. Thank you all and good night.

Introducing the new Management Committee of SLFS (2011-13)
New Management Committee
Left: Viengsamay Thepsourinthone, Co-ordinator of Event Organising & Fund-raising Committee. Viengsamay is a very busy man with work and with his sound promotion activities. However, that has never stopped him from being very active with SLFS. He is the greatest force when it comes to event organasing. Here he is discussing seriously with Ajarn Khotamy about organising an upcoming event.
Right: Mr Khamsing Inthapangna, many-terms Treasurer. Unarguably, Mr Khamsing is one of the most effective Treasurers in the history of SLFS. He remembers the names, addressess, Unit Nos of SLFS members by heart. He also knows precisely who has or has not paid the membership fee etc. Here he is seen providing a receipt to Soukanh (Leader of Unit No 8).
The female force in SLFS
Solicitor Sengdeuane Do, Public Officer of SLFS. Sengdeuane has just joined SLFS Management Committee but she has been a very supportive member. Sengdeaune is well known in the Lao community, not only for her good solicitor service but also for her generosity with donation and great contribution in every possible way to Lao community.
Bounhom Souvannalay, 2nd term as Secretary and has brought in SLFS a lot of new ideas. Bounhom is currently doing a Diploma in Interpreting at Granville Technical and Further Education. Back in Laos, she studied Law and Medicine and has worked in the Public Health Ministry in Laos. Bounlay Vorarath, 2nd term Vice-Secretary. Bounlay has been very active accessing the members of SLFS to find out what their needs are. With her constructive and pro-active approaches, she will definitely prove to be a great asset to SLFS. Bounlay was graduated as Mathematics teacher in Laos and has taught for a while. She is currently doing a Diploma in Interpreting at Granville Technical and Further Education.
New Management Committee
Mr Reugsak Pholsena, Promotion and Welfare Committee. Mr Reungsak newly joined the Management Committee but has shown great interest in SLFS. He studied Medicine in Laos although he does not practise here.
Khamsene Sychampanakhone, Vice-Treasurer. Khamsene is also new with the Management Committee but he comes with very useful skills and knowledge. Khamsene is the team leader of Lao Champa Media where they broadcast at Champa radio SWR FM99.9 every Sunday from 10 to 12 pm. He is also ex-President of Lao Artists Association in NSW and has been very pro-active when it comes to developing the community.

Dr Kaysone Phichit, Promotion and Welfare Committe, also a Senior and one of the Founders. Dr Kaysone was SLFS Vice-Treasurer for many terms. Dr Kaysone is now retired from his job in the operation room in the hospital.

Mr Bouakham Souriyavong, Promotion and Welfare Committee. Bouakham is a long-term and active Management Committee member of SLFS. Bouakham is doing a Diploma of Interpreting at Granville Technical College.
Mr Phoupheng Vorarath, Promotion and Welfare Committee, one of the pioneers with a true Lao Tai spirit. He has been a continuing force in progressing SLFS. Phoupheng loves singing and has one album with some old and new Lao songs. The album has been well received within the Lao community.

Congrats to new President of Saychailaotai!
The new Management Committee of Saychailaotai elected their President on 12/11/2011 @ 11.00 am. We are proud to present our new President: Mr Boungning Onemany. Ai Boungning was Vice President during last term and has acted as President many times during the absence of Ex-President Phayvanh Phoumindr due to her overseas trips. Congratulations ai Gning! We wish you a very successful term and lots of fun!
Mr Boungning Onemany “ໜຸ່ມໃຫຍ່ໄຟແຮງ” with many talents - professional photographer, DJ, Radio broadcaster, skillful skier, parachuter, singer (he can sing pop songs, morlum and yes ... Elvis's songs!) to name a few. He is Lao Tai boy from the Southest of Laos - Muang Khong, Siphandone Province. Back home, he was a sangkaliwat. Therefore he is very closed to Buddhism. Ai Gning is well-known for his straighforwardness - a true Lao Tai blood. Sounds like Saychailaotai is going to have heaps of exciting activities and fun. Good on you ai Gning!
Sangkaliwat by profession, ai Gning is receiving the blessings from Phra Raskru Ajarn Thongsavanh Chanthathirath, the Abbot of Wat Phra Yortkeo Dhammayanaram in Sydney, Australia.

The Founders, the Elders, the Advisors and the Members of SLFS had lunch together before attending the Annual General Meeting on 5/11/2011 @ Bonnyrigg Sports club.
Commemorating minute
Before commencing the meeting, SLFS Members stood up for 1 mn to commemorate the late members who have left us forever - leaving only the fond memories. After the 1 minute of silence, President Phayvanh declared the meeting open.
